Job requirements:
Language: English
Education: Menzi Muck Training/Certification, or equivalent experience
Experience: 3 years of relevant experience
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail

Specific Skills:
• Operate spider excavators with rock drilling equipment in steep terrain;
• Operate spider excavator equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and related activities;
• Operate spider excavators to clear brush and stumps prior to logging activities and to build roads at logging and surface mining sites;
• Operate heavy dredging equipment to deepen waterways or reclaim earth fill;
• Operate power shovels to excavate rock, ore or other materials as needed;
• Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo;
• Secure special attachments to equipment;
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment;
• Train or arrange for training of workers and helpers;
• May supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers;
• Occasional assembly and disassembly of spider excavators;
• Perform duties in steep challenging terrain.
